Fat Loss – Get The Right Mindset And Lose Pounds
Note to the reader: This is not supposed to sound like I am preaching to you. I hope that you take something away with you that really works for you on your journey to a fitter, happier and healthier body. Please do leave your feedback and comments below.
A Little Bit Of Hard Work Goes A Long Way
The problem with miracle fat loss pills (apart from the fact that they don’t work!) is that they encourage you not to put any effort in to your self-improvement. They make you believe that the pounds will just ‘fall off’, that you’ll lose inches while you are watching TV. The reality is that there might be some small placebo effect, but if you lose any belly fat then it will be down to the healthy diet that they encourage you to follow.
Think about it this way: if you are aiming for promotion at work then there is no chance that you’ll be able to sit around all day doing nothing in order to earn that promotion (unless you are very VERY lucky, or your dad owns the company!). So the same applies to your new better body.
Make the commitment to put in the effort
Of course if you’ve put in the effort previously, spending hours on the treadmill and elliptical trainer – with NO results then you will be less than enthusiastic. First of all I’d like to say, “I’ve been there”!
That is why you need an exercise program that encourages your effort. You need a training routine and a nutritional guide that produces the results your efforts deserve. Results that you can see every time you look in the mirror; every time you stand on the scales; or every time your partner and work colleagues complement your appearance.
Think Yourself Thin
One of the most powerful concepts that I’ve ever learned is the idea of re-framing your thoughts. If you think that you are “supposed to be fat”, or that you “can’t lose weight” then the chances are you’ll be stuck with an appearance you aren’t happy with. Instead re-frame your thoughts; tell yourself that you are “becoming a healthy person, committed to making the changes that you want”.
It also helps to picture yourself with a better body, and imagine those shopping trips for new clothes. If you find yourself craving burger and chips at dinner time, re-frame your thoughts telling yourself that you are a healthy individual, and you enjoy being healthy, and find out how easy it is to reach for a lean chicken breast sandwich with steamed veg.
Of course when you actually see the changes with your own eyes you’ll receive a huge boost in confidence. Once again that is where a proven interval and strength training program comes in.
Keep Challenging Yourself
Once you start to see the results you’ve been searching for all of these years it is very important to keep challenging yourself and pushing your boundaries with your routine. This will help you to maintain your progress – fend off the complacency that can lead to you putting the flab back on.
Adding 5 lbs to the weight that you think you can comfortably lift, or one more rep on that set of press-ups is all the progression you need. The point is to keep challenging yourself and avoid hitting a plateau. Trust me, the fat burning will follow.

Surround Yourself With Like Minded Individuals
There is no doubt that the success of others, and the encouragement they bring can make all the difference. Why not ask your partner to join you on your exercise routines, or the next time a colleague moans about their stubborn belly fat invite them to train with you.
Even if your friends and family aren’t interested in bettering themselves, ask them to encourage your hard work. After all, they’ll be reaping the rewards of your leaner figure, increased energy, self-confidence and zest for life too.
